OP, I'm sorry to say this, but I can't follow the logic of your post. You have deduced that it's dumb for YOU PERSONALLY to train hard because of your PERSONAL circumstances. For some reason you've made the crazy assumptions that we've all got no money and starving families??!
Personally I don't even have any kids to worry about and my grandparents are long gone. While I've got nothing to do I can think of nothing better than to lace up for a hard session!
Can you read???? I clearly said it's great if you have nothing to worry about, but to tell someone in a dangerous position like that to go run workouts instead of trying to survive is, well crazy.
Look OP if you're struggling during this time I hope you're getting the support you need from friend/family/the community/faith groups or whoever you can.
Obviously some people are having a harder time than others but unless you've completely lost everything and your life is in total shambles (which I doubt cause you have time to post on LRC), then doing an hour long track session is not bad for you at all, in fact quite the opposite.
Physical fitness enhances your mental and spiritual well being and can be very fun and rewarding. Don't let the news get you down and give in to a sense of despair, this can become a self fulfilling prophecy.
You make your own reality! So get out there and get after it!
