she was an olympic champ in triathlon and was a mediocre runner in college and is a mediocre pro runner. Wish her well but lets be honest she will never reach the level as a runner she was as a triathlete

Running is a lot deeper sport than triathlon because of tri's high barrier to entry. For tri you have to be well to do, unless you are a woman you can only do it at a club level in college, you have to have access to enough road for long bike rides, you have to have access to a pool, etc.
He’s a stay at home dad not husband.
If you can not put your kids in a daycare all day it’s the best thing you can do. I e worked ok a daycare and would not want my kid there 9 hours a day.
Anyways we live in a day when women are just as professionally successful as men. If it’s best for the man to stay home in a household than go for it.
I think Gwen knows she'll never be a running Olympic champ. She quit triathlons so she could spend more time with her son and she didn't like the training. Her running career is about putting off getting a real job. According to Wikipedia she was an accountant. Can't blame her for not wanting to go back to that.
It's sad when you see someone put a lot of energy into something and completely suck at it.
Sorta like a friend who puts his heart/soul into music and the album is just a total disaster.
She seems like a nice enough person and very passionate / driven, but you gotta know when to call it quits.
When you're getting beat by non pro runners on a regular basis, it's time to find something new. I think its time for her to hang up running/athletics and get back into the business world / accounting.
To be real: the decision won't be hers to make pretty soon. Can't see Nike renewing her contract after this string of mediocre results.

Interesting set up they have.
I don't know their particulars, but I wonder if they've considered paying for some of the household services that he currently takes care of. That would free up time for him to work.
You mean earn money that goes to pay for what he could just do himself?
Hey lifecoach what's your 5k? Earn a good living running? Nah you don't.

She was a tax C.P.A. at one of the big 5 international accounting firms. I once worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers. It's a very well paying job and the work is interesting. She loved her job and it took some convincing to get her to try triathalon. The hours at a C.P.A. firm can be very long . 60 hrs/week is not uncommon. So she may not be anxious to go back to that. But it's clear her running career is nearly over.

They keep bringing up her past accomplishments. She is a big pretender.
