the Skechers racer is already out and is only $190. more versatile for shorter distances as well, and 5.9oz

There were multiple stack heights experimented with in wear testing over the last 2-2.5 years. The 3 plates were an immediate failure when attempted to implement from conception into an actual product.
Unless you are a Nike insider in the RD department and you can prove it, I stick to my previous post.
Believe what you want, I guess. I don’t really care. It’s not like I’m going to put up an imgur of my ID.
Um, yeah plus two additional years of training in between.....
I'm sure this is a troll post, but I'll bite: you realize he ran 2:01 :39 while ALONE for half a race right? Oh, and that wasn't even in Alphaflys....
Either way, records will continue to be VAPORIZED!

The Alphafly Kipchoge used is not what they will release. The prototype had >40mm stack height in the heel and 3 plates.
Maybe just stick with the tried and true Next versus a makeshift last-minute adjustment to the Alpha. Though, they prob will drop the price once the Alpha comes out.[/quote]
it didn’t have 3 plates. That was just a concept and it was unrunable
The VF4%fly is just now going on sale. So that took 2ish years?
I never saw the original VF on sale, they just vanished
Set aside $300 USD and by feb29 all the competitor's shoes should be on the market.

and people call the Nike shoes ugly. Personally I don't case about the appearance of the shoe. But if I did then the Sketchers would be bottom of the list.

Why any hobby jogger actually races in these shoes in beyond me. All your PRs will be mechanically aided and you're a fraud. That will be in the back of your head for the rest of your life. Just get some racing flats and cut the crap.

Is it worth waiting untill alphafly and/or other brands contenders are public or will these most likely not be that much better (if better at all) than the Vaporfly?
I am waiting for some of the competitors' shoes to come out, mainly New Balance and/or Hoka. But I think in the end, none of these will be better than the Next%. Hate to say it.. but I find it hard to believe. I just like the idea in general of a more cushioned racer, so if NB or Hoka can get something that's good enough, that works for me.
After seeing Callum Hawkins have that amazing run at the end in Doha in the NB, or Walmsley's 31 miles at 5:34 pace on a moderately tough trail in the Hoka.. that's enough for me. And in terms of US marathon running, the top Americans outside of Rupp and Hasay aren't in Nike anyways.

Why is it necessary it get racing flats? Isn't that also considered to be aided since they are manufactured to be faster than daily trainers? I only consider my PRs to be those run in my daily trainers.

Notice the part I said about mechanically aided. A lighter shoe is not mechanically aided. And also doesn't cost half the month's mortgage or rent for a marginal benefit.

wait, so is it mechanically aided doping or is it expensive nonsense for a "marginal benefit"? I forget which incompatible narrative we're going with this month now that a dude shattered the 10k world record in a pair of Adidas
every alternative brand that has a shoe out or details announced isn't worth it. They're not going to work. Everyone is just sticking a plate in their old foam, and that's not why the vaporfly is so good. They need the plate and the pebax foam, 100%. I really don't know what these companies are thinking, just trying to ride off the vaporfly marketing and hoping people think it's just the plate I guess? But so far everything else is useless, I'm holding out hope for adidas and saucony
NB uses different foam. Don’t be fooled by the name(fuel cell), stuff is crazy and very similar to Nikes foam (I actually liked it better)

"half the month's mortgage..." Where do you live that $250-300 is half a month's rent?

Multiple narratives are possible! Mechanically aided doping for both pros and hobby joggers and expensive nonsense for hobby joggers.
And that 10k record also was weak.
