Epstein-Barr virus normally gets Epstein on trial and Barr fired. But these are not normal times.
Sounds like what I had for two full years just after college in the early '90s. I self diagnosed it as chronic fatigue syndrome at the time, and tested positive for Epstein-Barr virus antibodies. I've been calling it overtraining syndrome recently because also matched those symptoms, and that's something that's been more recently recognized and talked about. CFS and OTS might very well be the same thing sometimes, since both are kind of vaguely defined, but I'm no medical expert.

Meh... let's not forget she won trials because she had shoes that gave her a significant mechanical advantage that her non-Nike competitors didn't have. These shoes were also illegal at the time. So cry me an effing river, bud.

How does sponsorship work btw, she's raced like only four times over the past four years, is Nike just being patient with little to lose? (seems like same thing with Rupp and Hasay)
Anyway, not a fan of her but illness/injury totally sucks and wouldn't wish it on anyone so hope she finds a way back and keep sponsorship, best wishes.

It's also associated with chronic illnesses/fatigue. I didn't know that I ever had mono, but I tested positive for the E-B virus antibodies. Maybe I did have mono, but it just went on and on? The chronic fatigue illnesses and overtraining syndrome don't seem to be well understood, and so going to a doctor, getting tests, etc doesn't seem to help most people. Since I knew it wasn't understood by doctors, I didn't bother trying to get help beyond for one visit to student health (as a grad student) where I had a test that came back with that E-B antibodies positive.
I was lucky my body recovered on its own after two years. Hopefully Cragg gets better quicker than that. (Does Geoff Roes still has overtraining syndrome after about a decade?) There are things that I see in a search about reactivated E-B, and it's possible that I've had this a few times in the 25 years since I recovered from that initial 2-year chronic fatigue event. There have been times where I've had sore lymph nodes, weakness, fatigue, etc. for months at a time since that initial event.
I'm far from an expert and don't have the answers, just sharing my experience.

Hey man, if you're still checking in on this thread, could you possibly go into further detail about the accupressure therapy and dietary changes you made that made a difference for you? I've been living with what sounds like this for years, and I'm always open to hearing new things that have helped people (I've ruled out a LOT of other things).
I had EBV/CFS diagnosis age 29 as a vegetarian. My ferritin was tanked as well and I had to start eating meat and eggs again to help crawl back out of it. I fought gut, energy and inflammation issues another 15-20 years until finally going keto then full carnivore. Now my energy and recovery is the best of my entire life.
Is this what happens when you mess with your thyroid? Same story with Goucher (shadow of herself) and Flanagan (retired)?
