Dude is only charged with a misdemeanor. Law enforcement won't confiscate his computer unless there is evidence from other sources demonstrating this fella may have committed felonies.

I'm sympathetic to the guy, but haven't slapped an unknown woman's butt. Granted I've always been very introverted and have never been the touchy-feely type. However, many people are more extroverted and truly don't have bad intention doing that. What gets me is that a woman can slap a guy's butt and everyone laughs. And why not? Who really cares. The video is hilarious and my feminist wife was also laughing her head off. Of course, we agree it was inappropriate--she was virtually blocking the course and everyone was doing exaggerated gestures in front of her--but not a huge deal.

Completely agree. If he came out and apologized, either in a public letter or offering to do it in person directly to the victim (could you imagine the level of humiliation if he did both??), this reporter would have no choice but to forgive. We'd all learn a great lesson about stupidity, harassment, humility, and redemptive humanity. Otherwise, she would appear to be just another soulless, vindictive, holier-than-thou thug trading on her victimhood for notoriety

I have not.

However, knowing that people (me included) sometimes do stupid, spontaneous things without thinking it through, makes me sympathetic (not in the sense that he should suffer no consequences, but that it will be far in excess of what the act warrants).
