You're an idiot. 99% of the Universities are not at altitude. All the teams taking advantage of it are altitude universities that train at altitude higher than Golden. Even Mines trains higher than where their facility is. Look at where all the guys that have run the converted times are from. Altitude. Altitude conversions were originally put in for athletes not from altitude going to altitude. Mines literally sent their whole womens team and a few men to GV im sure they could have sent more but they decided to take advantage of the conversions like normal.
What are you talking about? If Golden trains higher than their facility, it is not by much, and the other qualifiers that were at this meet were from Pueblo, which is about 1000 ft lower than Mines. Additionally, it is worth noting that 30% of the top 10 distance programs and 20% of the top 25 distance programs at the D2 level are at altitude and approximately 10% of D2 distance programs are at altitude, not 1%. As far as nationals is concerned, look at the results 43% of the top 3 runners and 38% of top 8 runners in the mid distance and distance events at indoors last year were from the RMAC. And like I said earlier, if you think it is such a fast venue, then ask your coach to let you run a meet there (it will be a wake up call for you).
And where did you D2 rocket scientist get the idea that altitude conversions were introduced for runners not from altitude? If anything they were put into place to allow for times run at altitude by teams that run most of their races at altitude to have a basis for comparison against times run at sea level by those schools that do all of their racing at sea level as there is effectively 20% less oxygen at 5600' as there is at sea level.
