Good point. Apparently people on this board have never lost a race, never had an off day, or god forbid, more than one off day. Plus you don't always have to be in front and win every race to be a "factor".

It is a place to express opinions.

You expressed your negative opinion on the future of a 17 yr old girl for which you have absolutely no criteria to do so.

And I expressed my opinion that your 'trend' analysis was pathetic, and that the reason for your negativity is either that it makes you feel better about who your favorite athlete is (in which case why don't you talk about how good any one of those other very talented ladies may become instead), or that diminishing others for no reason just makes you feel better about yourself. It's my opinion that you seem to have missed a basic lesson regarding showing respect.

So what's your issue? You feel comfortable being negative about Katelynne Hart, but don't like it when someone says something negative about you!!

You want to predict Brown, Straliper, Dudek, and Willis will be the most successful going foward....that would be a great post and creates a fun debate. I may have a different opinion on who may be the most successful, but I certainly wouldn't say you're wrong and I wouldn't try to justify my favorites by insulting yours.

I had this same thought. She was much further back from the start, and she may have realized this one was a lost cause to push hard when she has FL next week, with Duzek back in the mix plus some of these same competitors.

Or, she could have just had a sh*tty day. Maybe she’ll tell us, maybe she won’t. I’m still amazed by her.

I was wondering the same thing...I did see her come across on the finish cam and she looked pretty tuckered out. I think she just had a bad day.

I agree with comments about footlocker...I expect that she has a great bounce back race. Be great to see her, Starliper, Ewert, Dudek and Masciarelli battling it out at the end!!

One of the big reasons that this website can suck is that people bask in the misfortunes of others. It says more about those making the comments than those they make them about.

Jeff Nelson, ran 8:36 for the 2 mile in high school. He ran two years in college then quit.

In case you haven't been keeping up the most successful from that 2020 class are Katelyn Tuohy and Parker Valby. Missing on Tuohy is as bad as it gets.

She had a good soph year, but then regressed her junior year and has struggled since. Don't know why, I can tell you after my soph year I just started losing interest in training and competing and gave it up. It happens, don't know if that's what is going on here.

Do you know how hard it is to maintain your high school level in college when it is that good? Hart, Ewert, Thorvaldson, Culbreath the list goes on. It is what it is. leave them alone.

I was a good runner coming out of high school and was excited to see where I could go in college. But I went through a lot of crazy mental health stuff in the winter of my freshman year and my running took an absolute nosedive. Back then there weren't a lot of mental health resources either. After that mentally, and physically it became impossible to build myself back up. It took all four years just to get back to where I was as a senior in high school....as a senior in college--which isn't that good by college standards.

It is what it is. I'm proud of myself for not giving up. Every runner has a different journey in the sport.
