Where do we draw the line? These athletes have perfectly normal thyroid functions/values, vitamin D levels, etc. By pushing them over and giving them more than needed we extend their abilities to run, recover and their performance.

I never said anything against Hasay, she might be clean but is still taking more things than other elites are. Salazar was taking the enhancement of performance by using drugs to the highest level possible, without the drugs his athletes would become just another version of himself if they kept up their huge training load.

Things that differentiate many Salazar athletes from others:

- yes, many take vitamin D, calcium, fish oil (omega 3), magnesium, iron, etc. but Salazar does not just use them to balance deficiencies, or give a slight boost, he is actively trying to reach the highest level possible for maximum performance

- he is using stuff that is much lesser known, like calcitonine, beta-alanine, aminos, l-carnitine (nutramet). all performance-enhancing

- he is abusing thyroid medications to gain performance boosts - these meds were supposed to help people with hashimoto's, no thyroid or a severely underfunctioning on to be able to function normally, not to enable highly-functional people with no thyroid problems to train even harder

Hasay is off the hook for 3) - but the combination of 1) and 2) still contains many things that only few elites will use to this extent, and while not in direct breach of doping violations DO give them advantages over those who don't.

So unless you are saying to level the field we should be putting athletes who don't want to abuse meds like Muir, Willis etc on all of this stuff NOP athletes DO have an advantage that is not just related to more and harder training.

Just think about bodyweight - most female runners would be easily getting stress fractures or underperform at the BMI of Koko or Hassan, but the combination of these meds, and especially the calcitonine toothpaste allow them to perform well at their weights.

Salazar has used these young runners that tell their story of him treating them well and never suggesting that they dope. He is evil.

I don't give two sh**'s how many supplements she's on, as long as she's not on the sauce. If you don't like the rules allowing supplements, better get the rules changed. BTW, gatorade is "performance enhancing," by your rationale. Better put that on the list too.

Compare index times at the same age between runners. Control for increases in training load and training philosophy. Then make your statement. But, ahora, your "suspicious" is meaningless.

This seems credible to me, I think she was kept more on the outside of AS's "experiments", but that is more of a hunch than a fact; we will probably never know for sure who was doing what in all of this, thanks to the security that Nike helps run to cloak such activity. The "fog of war" is going to be thick on this one.

Is it too early in the process of this injury to check your bone density? Or biomechanics? I’m sure you’ll leave no stone unturned. Is there anything you’ve looked at or ruled out?

Yeah, actually we’re looking into all of that. When I got the first fracture, we pretty much ticked off the bone density. Now I’m going a little bit deeper. I’m going to see an endocrinologist, and I’m try to figure out my (shoe) insert as well, because we think biomechanically something is still a little off.

Hopefully we’ll have one clear answer or a combination of answers that will help determine it. I’m thankful to have such a good support team around me. Alberto (Salazar, her coach) has been great with everything. We’re searching out the best to try to get to the bottom of it.

She may have been clean when she first joined NOP, but after she failed to make the team in 2016 she went all in on Alberto’s program. Hence, her marathon debut outcome.

Yeah, she was a fast preteen, then after college you could make money betting on her to DFL and get lapped. But once the NOP doping kicked in, she goes 2:20. She is 100% filthy.

Jordan has had kind of an up and down trajectory. Couldn't that be the pattern of someone with great natural ability who ISN'T doping?

I have no real idea about what Jordan's truth is, but someone who has been up and down, healthy then injured etc seems possibly less suspect than someone who was on one gradual consistent trajectory then jumped to a new higher consistent trajectory, or even one who just had one or two outlier performances.

If you are a pure marathoner you definitely can have those times, especially if you decide to focus less and less on the 10k as you get better in the half and full. Yes it is not in the norm, but that is because most people are better suited at shorter distances and move up.

For instance, when I was in high school my best vdot was around the 69/70 range but there is no way that I could run those equivalent times in the half and the full when I was in high school. Now as someone in my 30s, I can run the half and full times for that vdot but have a harder time hitting the 5k and definitely cant hit the mile or two mile times anymore (though I did a couple years ago). My prs are 421/923/1459/3121/68:12/2:22:25
