Noah Lyles is the greatest thing in track right now, period. Sifan Hassan could win 3 or 4 distance events if they didn't fall on top of each other.

We are trying to kill off the 5000m & 10000m. We do not need Jacob Rocky Balboa generating excitement in 5000m. We're killing it off. Those fellas in charge of T&F over 100 years ago when T&F decided to race 5000m & 10000m on 400m track did not know there would be a need for television commericals ever seven minutes. Five and 10 are boring to watch and boring to race on 400m track except for final 900m. We'll place all these exciting athletes in 3000m. If one is good as a 5000m runner, they can be good as a 3000m runner.

He's 19 and its typical racist jealousy of someone who has more potential and will likely stay in the sport longer than his geeky, elderly counterparts. Jakob isn't yet old enough to have fully reached his endurance potential.
Have you even been to Norway? The gene pool is insane. It is full of good looking, muscular, strong, fit and athletic people. Tough people too since its far north and cold. Its literally full of the most beautiful people in the world. And considering the proportion who run seriously per head of the population compared to Kenya and Ethiopia, they're more successful too. There are only 5 million people there.

As a Canadian I was wanting Ahmed to win and I was frustrated by Jakob running into him three or four times.

I'm not a Jakob hater, but it's stupid to think he'll do anything more to "rescue" the sport any more than Dieter Bauman did. Everybody remember those glory days when a white guy won a gold medal?
