OOOOOPPPPPS! Dixie Chicks make serious blunder!

You F'ing liberals don't get it. They weren't in our country when they opened their dumb ass women's mouths. They got it parially right when they were pregnant. That's about the closest they have come to doing god and man's bidding. They don't even know their place in this world.

I agree with trackhead totally. Did anyone forget the term "Public Servant"? That Bush is an ELECTED official, and that he answers to us, or he's out on his ass in about 20 months? Agree or disagree, it's our PLACE to say what we think, not only behind a closed polling booth curtain every four years....

The reason people are getting so wrapped up is that most people who listen to Dixie Chicks are conservatives who only listened to country and family oriented right-wing christian contemporary music. It is just shocking for a family-oriented band to be political. It is kinda like Big Bird or Miss Piggy saying that they are pro-choice. No one is boycotting Sheryl Crow or Steve Earle because we expect that from them, but one doesn't expect that from the Chicks.

TheKing, you are so right on man! I honestly wish they would not let them back in the country. All over the country today, music stations are blacklisting their music. What an embarrasment to our country!

On second thought, let them back in! Can't wait to hear the boos from their first concert along with all the rotten tomatoes they will receive. The little pudgy lead singer should be an easy target.

I hate how people say that Clinton was a bad president because he got a few bj's while in office. And how does that affect how he ran the country??? I don't know much about politics or the reasoning behind Bush's (or Clinton's for that matter) decisions, but I do know one thing (which happens to be what a majority of Americans know). Clinton could give a coherent speech and comfort Americans during a time of struggle (whether he was making the right decisions or not). On the other hand, Bush is lucky if he strings together more than two coherent sentences in a row. His common pronunciation of "nukular" (in Homer Simpson style) and use of words like misunderestimate and switching words like persecute with prosecute is very unprofessional. Whether he's making the right decisions or not, he makes me feel very uneasy anytime he does something. I don't see why everyone is so appalled with what the Dixie Chicks said. Less than 50% of Americans voted for Bush. MOST people are not going to ceaselessly support him in every aspect. Everyone blowing this way out of proportion is just showing their insecurity.

I also agree with trackhead. It's okay for Toby Keith to sing about "putting a boot in their ass" or whatever, but not okay if someone just voices their anti-war sentiments or criticizes the prez? Isn't that what he's there for, to listen the the voices of the CITIZENS? Why is not wanting war considered LIBERAL? I just don't get that...Well time for a run, can't wait to see where we've gotten when I get back.

The Dixie Chicks are free to criticize Bush, stations are free to blacklist the Chicks, and advertisers are free to remove their sponsorship from the station, people are free to boycott those products, employers can refuse to hire those people...ain't democracy great?

America 's Constitution protects the rights of all individuals to express their opinions, whatever they may be.

So when it was legal in certain parts of America to discriminate against blacks, it was our legal right, as Americans, to protest and criticize our government as we saw fit.

It is an American ideal to freely express one's self, and not blindly follow a leader.

So if anyone here is treasonous against American values, it is you.

Blacklist by the government is one thing, blacklist by citizens is another. Freedom of speach also includes the freedom to speak out about the opinions of others.

They clearly didn't think through the consequences of their actions. The same thing would happen in Hollywood if an actor were to come out in support of Pres. Bush and were to make derogatory comments about actors in support of the anti-war movement. It's all about who ultimately signs your paycheck. The DC's obviously forgot that "good 'ol boys and girls" sign their paychecks at the end of the day.
