However i have one question. I understand Jakob didn't qualify for Zurich, but why is Wanders in the final then? He hasn't scored any points in the DL 5000m events this season. How is this possible??

I think you're overestimating Jakob's abilities right now. Wanders will probably drop a 13:05-13:10 on thursday, so do you imply Jakob could run 12:50 or slightly faster right now??

If Wanders runs 13:05, that race will likely be extremely fast, 12:46 fast with Berega, Gebrhiwet and Kejelcha dueling it out. As we have seen Jakob isn't far off Gebrhiwet. So my original statement stands ?
saw stewy first run as a 17 year old on the muddy tracks of the Adelaide horse track. To be honest his progression has been amazing.
To be the 2nd fastest ever aussie 1500m runner is truly incredible from someone who as a junior did was beaten regularly by the likes of Tiernan, McDonald, Birtwhistle....he was only good enough if I recall to win a junior championship in the steeple.
To run 3:31 for 1500 when you might only be able to run a 1:47 800 shows his strength endurance and why he is such a threat to run sub 13 minutes. He is NOT and I REPEAT NOT a 1500m runner.

Nice, coach Nic Bideau managed to get McSweyn a personal pacer in Ryan Gregson (1500m Aussie record holder) in the race just in case things go slow or crazy fast.
The plan is to go out on Mottram's Australia record and go from there. Expect fireworks.
Stewies IAAF profile list his 800m pr as 2:01 LOL how funny is that? He was 17 at the time. So the message for all those young juniors is keep at it!

The mighty Stew got destroyed in 13:35 and Wanders ran an extra lap to finish in 13:46.
possibly the worst sub 13 attempt ever. Did he say he was going for sub 13? Has anyone ever said that and done worse?
I've called this guy Rupp 2.0 but it's obvious the new Rupp is no improvement.
Still had the 3:31 in his legs from last weekend. He needs to decide if he's a 1500 or 5k runner. With proper rest and preparation he should acquit himself well in Doha, and as with all these fellas, stay injury free.
