Easy — they use both as criteria. A black family with a $200,000 income has, on average, less wealth than a white family with the same income. So, both metrics are relevant. Colleges also aren’t competitions, so they have an inherent interest in creating a diverse atmosphere.

No they don't. Obviouks you weren't considered for tje Ivies. The highly slective schools that are included in this study are need blind. You don't provide income until after already being accepted. Race is a factor in the a admissions decision however and they have 3 different bars to get over: the highest for Asians, next is for Whites, and the lowest is for Hispanics and blacks. That is the whole point if this Georgetown study.
“Need blind” is a self reported statistic and usually refers to schools refusing to give advantage to WEALTHY students who can afford sticker price tuition. Schools get popped for lying about this constantly.
Interestingly, most schools are NOT need blind and you never hear Let’s Runners whining about the rich getting an advantage.

So if wealth is the real issue, why isn’t that what the admissions are based upon?
You have yet to point to single reasons why skin colour should be a criteria. All you can put forward is your racist assumptions about blacks and factors which could easily be addressed directly instead of indirectly.

If the alternative is a school of homogeneous white kids who all look and act the same? Absolutely! It’s supposed to be an educational experience. Colleges don’t exist to cater to your privilege.
