Kejelcha - horrible.
Whatever they are doing it sure didn't work for Kejelcha (next to last). Murphy wasn't great either.

Kejelcha just must not have felt 100% for whatever reason and packed it in. Engels said he saw Kejelcha move out to lane 3 mid race to move back in the pack. Sounds like someone who's packing it in. Maybe he was instructed not to kill himself if he didn't feel great because he has to run that qualifier for Ethiopian Champs in a week.

I wonder how much do they periodize their training? Does Salazar use more of Bowerman training? For example, in the fall/winter you might do 15 x 400 in 70 seconds and over time progress it to where they are running 6 x 400 in 55 seconds? Like I imagine they take a few weeks off at the end of the season. Take a few weeks just rebuilding. Than start doing more structured workouts.

Now look at Hasay, Osaka, Brazier, Murphy, Engels, Hassan, Yomif, and freaking Koko....
Runners don't fall off under him. They evolve, like world class evolve.

Wouldn't be surprised if Salazar/NOP training is just Bowerman training adapted/adjusted. Look at pre training:

This is within what Salazar principles, kinda.
Surely they are doing phonetic exercise. I recommend phonetic exercise. The power of languages for daily well being has an evolutionary, historical, physiological and psychosocial basis. Sometimes seemingly simple basic categories are the best supplements: rest and relaxation, food and socializing.

Yes -- Cain, Ulrey, Levins, Ritzenhein, Chock, Webb, Rohatinsky, Yoder Begley, Puskedra, the entire first iteration of NOP except for Browne (who was never a medal contender but made US teams), even Hasay who was a bust her first 4 years as a pro until Salazar discovered she had a talent for the marathon. I'm sure they're others.
Jenkins has also disappointed during his time with NOP.
athletes make coaches, coaches don't make athletes.
after you get a good rep as a coach, the athletes come.
and after that it takes good coaching and luck.
if you have a PED program, then pretty much everything works.
otherwise it is a crap shoot.
that's the score on that.
Adam Goucher constantly injured during his time with NOP, never ran up to his potential. (Probably more his fault than Salazar's.)

I can't see USADA turning a blind eye to this when they showed no mercy for two hometown heros in Armstrong and Jones.
