Not impossible. Many in your age or older have done it but it needs a LOT of dedication and hard training.
I think you need a 37 to 38 minutes over 10k to have a chance.
Probably 50 miles per week is the minimum, 30 miles per week won't cut it.

If you have a 43 minute PR you are not getting that down to 35. 36 minutes easily.

Yes, you really do need to be running 70-80 mpw. At least that's what I was running when I broke 3.
My 10k is around 43-44, so a lot of work to do.
Did 7 easy in 58 today; it was 88'F and 55% humidity in Columbus. The marathon is so far away, but I'm enjoying the ride. Hoping to hit 50 within a few weeks. If I keep increasing I may be able to hit 60 by August or early Sept, do the long runs, then taper with 1 month to go (not a hard taper though).
I've never run more than 40 mpw in my life up to this point. In HS I did 25-35 and for my 18:33 5k in 2008 at Kent State I did 36 as my peak.

I would say the first stage is getting your 5k, 10k and half times down to sub 19 & 38 & 86 mins respectively otherwise if you push for sub 3 you could end up regretting the last stages of your marathon. Increasing your mileage will help but depending on your body/muscle make up you could find low mileage or very high mileage is required . I’m no speed demon and just missed sub 3 hours (18min 5k, 38min 10k and 83min half) on 30 miles a week. While I know otherwise at the club who do 60+ miles a week and are a lot slower over a marathon than I. Get your first marathon training block done, see what works for you and want doesn’t and go from there.

I would recommend that you slowly work your way up and see what happens. Do proper build ups with 10k, HM and Marathons every half year. Don't try to do Marathon after Marathon. You won't get faster that way.
Pace yourself realistically according to your latest HM PR. and just don't just go for a sub 3. That never works. You probably can get easier under 3:15 but the progress will be much slower the closer you get to your sub 3 goal.

Before, in '17 and '18, I had to wing it alone and never ran more than 38 mpw for the '18 half and, despite that, still broke 1:40 on really low 25-30 avg. mpw. I would just run what I felt, and throw in a few 10s and 11s. I ran 13 today in 90'F heat and did it slow and easy, 1:50:25, in Antrim Park in Cbus.

In the below article, it states that males who BQ'd averaged 47 mpw, and hit a peak of 59.67 mpw. Those that did not BQ averaged 25 mpw, and hit a peak of 42.84 mpw.
Your 40 mpw peak puts you in the non-BQ category. However, if you "hit 60 by August or early Sept" you may move in the BQ category, which is a sub 3 for males under 35 years old.
Overall, with a few exceptions for the ultra-gifted, you really do need to put in high weekly mileage to meet the sub 3 goal. Most people don't want to hear this because they are lazy.

Get out to High Banks or somewhere with hills and string together a bunch of those trails for your long runs. I was overweight when I ran the 1:39 as well (145 lbs. on 10/20/18 or so).
If the 5’2 isn’t a typo then 134 is about 30 lbs from where you need to be, unless you’re big boned. Regardless, shedding some weight will help

I am 5'2'' and short. :( So I was at 155 and I need to get down to 105 is what you're saying? Diet is good so no issues there. I don't want to starve myself though either.
