So far there are 9 posts bAshing here . All are by unregistered folks . At first blush you wound think “ wow 9 people who don’t like her,” it’s probably 1 or at the most 2 who really hate her. It’s a big difference

Probably true.
For the record, my post about the mountain lying on the trail wasn't bashing.
Furthermore, Hate's a strong word. I don't hate anyone. KG's a good person.
Certainly you can find people grating and annoying by their behavior without hating them.
To be a hero you have to win gold.
She only won silver.
I’m not sure that it’s fair to make anyone out to be a misogynist, if you aren’t a fan of kara goucher.
Can’t someone just decide she’s not their cuppa tea?
There are actually a lot of athletes that i think are kinda meh. They are better runners than i’ll ever be, but they are not my heroes, and in the end, they don’t have anything to say, that i’m interesting in hearing.
I think i may have listened to a podcast where kara goucher was interviewed, and it left me thinking she wasn’t my cuppa tea. I find her big transition into trailrunning to be a bit much for me — it just left the wrong taste in my mouth somehow? Too much buildup? Too much talk?
I admire a willingness to do some whistleblowing re nike and doping though. I did not follow this much, and maybe would grow to like her more, if i did?
I strongly suspect that most of the hate comes from people too young to remember her college career and that she was gone for most of 7 years before her World bronze (now silver). Kara Goucher was an absolute beast in her prime and was also an amazing comeback/underdog story. She was already a legend a decade ago. She was a big part of the US resurgence in distance running. If she died in 2011, she would have been the new Pre.
Daniel Cormier also cries a lot. Who cares?

https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a25380531/kara-goucher-new-marathon-goals/She's not as fast as she used to be but seems to be a decent person (not biaotchy or stupid or mean). And she has what looks like a good book out I may get.
I'm trying to get my g/f into running and she's inspired by female runners like Joanie, Jordan, Kara, Allie, etc. And especially Gwen (due to her tris and her vids about Stanley).
Good thread, 9/10. My longest troll thread to date also was about Kara.
My second longest one is about Kara, pretty sure my longest one is about Rupp.

People are jealous and bitter because they train their brains out and base their own self worth in their running yet she’d still lap them ...... in a 1600.
Yeah right, her mile PB is only 4:33. Every letsrunner can do that in her sleep.
LOL
Yep ... she’d definitely lap the average letsrunner

In her current shape right now? No.
Kara got old and lost her looks. It happens to everybody if they live long enough. Give her a break.
I'd like to see her come back and make one last shot at '20 or '24.
Think Jack Nicklaus winning the '86 Masters at age 46.
