obviously I'm no coach nor professional nor MD but I couldnt imagine running could be anything but negative if you're forced to a hobble like that. My goodness, that poor girl. Hopefully she wasnt training much like that.

How can someone that young have been injured for that long and have such horrible running form with such poor knee lift? Its not as if she's a distance prodigy, then I could understand the high mileage causing all the injuries.
She's going to have to become a lot tougher, both mentally and physically, and do things a lot better to ever become a championship finalist again.
I'm afraid I can't see her getting back to the top.

I agree about the running form in that video looking troubling. Such a short stride and shuffling like that is odd, I don't know how anyone that formerly had such a powerful stride would look like that on a training run? Hope that isn't typical for her.
It'll be interesting to see if she can stay 100% healthy from now until next summer, what her plans will be for 2020 in this sport? I wish her the best, hope she can get some of that old magic back.
The form in that video is truly atrocious but she looks like a completely different runner in that very short clip from the 4 miler she just won.

I'm confused, why is she going to train in ML? I thought she was back in school on the east coast and training with her old coach. I suppose her parents can afford to send her on training vacations but is Nike still her sponsor?

This is what years of injury does to your stride. Hopefully she learns to run un-injured again and regains some of her previous form. I know what injuries can do to your stride since it has happened to me.

I just think she felt like she fit in. She was just out of HS, everyone else was a bunch of adults who ran in college and had social connections in addition to running. It had to be pretty much culture shock.
