For everyone who has posted what great stories these are and what a cool thing the BroJos have done, there are another fives times as many of us who read the boards but almost never post, and we all are just as excited and hopeful for the LR World XCers as all the above posters. A lot of the guys playing in the woods, they join these teams and call themselves professional, but there is nothing professional about running the same equivalent in the marathon as what you ran in another event (that would be considered mediocre). Matt Crowe of Team LetsRun.com Pulled from Course
Our motto may be “Where Your Dreams Become Reality” but that doesn’t mean you always get the running result you want. Matt Crowe was selected to run the senior race and represent LetsRun.com and he has a very cool backstory. His run today however did not go as he wanted and the officials pulled him from the course even though he was beating some of the “official” athletes in the race who were representing countries. The race had certain time checks along the course and you had to be within so many minutes of the leaders and Matt fell behind them.
We’ll have more on his experience later but short video with him below. Matt’s in pretty good spirits as when we told him he made our official race recap he said, he wanted to know if he “went home devastated.”

Bruce, whom we flew to Aarhus from Dallas after she couldn’t get into the Stanford Invitational 10,000 this weekend, ran 42:08 to finish 83rd (81 women from national teams plus Woolven of GBR who also entered on her own beat her). She finished 1:09 behind Team USA member Courtney Frerichs.
Thanks for the update. Impressed with Pippa from GB. Very surprised she was left off the team and very cool to see her racing so strong despite the selection snub. I'm surprised more people didn't want to race in the event.
I've got Rotterdam next weekend and was thinking about going early to do the XC but seeing the course I'm glad I didn't. I definitely would've been lapped out like Matt Crowe, and messed with the marathon too much as well.
Serves him right for not wearing a LetsRun singlet.

Come on Rojo tell the real story. Courtney shut down once she realized that she was no longer a scorer for Team USA. Saying how far Kelsey finished behind her is disingenuous.
Kelsey Bruce a 2:31 marathoner could not finish within 2 minutes of the last scorer for Team USA. And Team USA ran horrible.
That is the real story.
