For a 2:07 guy, 1:01 would not be very fast and not bring a blowup like that. He may still run well because maybe he was sick and tired from big training. But I don't see anything close to 2:07 at London. He broke 2:10 last time. It may not happen this time.

was that article written by a high school kid on his HS track team? very low level analysis and predictions

to go from 2:09mid to 2:07:00 would be extraordinary for Levins. Even ignoring his NYC half result (presuming he blew up) I think if he could dip under 2:09 it would be huge. He had a special day in Toronto, and NYC half proves that you don't always have special days.

I've read like 2-3 articles saying he was made for the marathon in the last week or two.Then saw he ran 65:10 for the half in NYC.

The first thought that popped into my head was, "If he's made for the marathon, why did he run 65 for the half?"

Now people can be sick and it's almost impossible to race well if you don't back off your mileage.

But 2:07:00 would surprise me a great deal.

Now we know he'll hit 2:07.

He didn't taper for that half, it was part of his training. If he was afrekan everyone here would note that.

I realize you're being facetious but since there's a head-to-head comparison available, for what it's worth: Cam was 4s behind Parker at 5k and finished 2:15 behind him. Maybe Stinson's days of Stinsoning are over?

Where does it say "highly in depth analysis". The author simply uses one primary comparable metric - other performances.

Nothing wrong with that. If not injured then sub 2:08 appears very possible.
