you are a TOOL (as the kimster would so imaginatively put it in her own li'l inimitable way--spell-checked too!!). just stay fit like me man. i know you're just bein' snarky and shit and making a vain attempt at cleverness, but i'll give you a serious response. ok, say you take the track of baggin' babes by staying fit (of which i am the prime example). 2 to 3 hours a day is more than enough to have washboard abs and ripped legs (like me). you then have the rest of the day off. and (believe me) you get babes (i sure as hell do). on the other hand, taking the money route to get babes, you work like a f***in' dog 10, 12, 14 or more hours a day and kiss ass like a motherf***er and end up with high blood pressure and a big ol' gut where you can't even see your junk much less use it. sure, you get some arm candy, but you can't (so to speak) eat it anymore.

Keeping your body in great shape goes beyond the 2-3 hours you actually spend working out. You also have to watch your diet the other 13-16 hours a day that you are awake. And, actually you don't need to work like a dog 14 hours a day to make a lot of money. You may need to work hard for 5-10 years, but once you get through that, it gets a lot easier.

Its funny though because both ways of attracting girls (money and body/appearance) cater to those who are superficial. Since we are looking for superficial girls here, why not get the most superificial (and the most attractive) possible, by making tons of money. Hooking up with a fit 40 year old like you will get old for a woman, but shopping and buying herself new clothes and jewelry never will. And this is comming from a guy who has half your body fat.

the question is, are you gettin' the ladies? especially the 20 somethings. cause if you're not, you're wasting your and our times. no one gives a shit about your f***in' weight loss, dude. now if you're baggin' 25 year olds like some of the old guys who keep themselves fit, then we may be mildly interested. but til then, believe me, we don't f***in' care about your gettin' rid of your lardass. kudos, but shut up already.

My question is, I'm trying to hit the beach with my family in August. Is it remotely possible to lose 20 pounds in one month? I come from a sports background and when I was 19 years old, I was able to lose nearly 40 pounds in two months. I did this because I wanted to get rid of my football physique and this wasn't a problem for me. However, I'm 26 years old now. I know my metabolism rate is more slower now but if I run everyday at a reasonable pace, can I do it?

You'd need a deficit of roughly 2300 calories per day. That's going to be a tall order. If you ran 20 miles a day, you'd burn 4,000 calories, which means you could only eat 1,700. I imagine you'd be pretty hungry. If you are really determined to do this, incorporate the following into your diet in high quantities:

*coffee (with skim milk, a little cream, and sugar substitute)

*fruit w/high water content (strawberries, watermellon)

*carbolite frozen yogurt

*dried beef

*fish or any low fat meat

*vegetables with fat free dip

*diet coke, diet snapple, propell fitness water, etc

Please note that if you try to do this, you will screw up your metabloism and digestive systems temporarily

Let's say you burn 2500 calories a day not counting exercise. 1200 calories is the least you could consume without seriously causing some harm. So that's a difference of 1300 a day. Times 30 days is 39000 divide by number of calories in a pound of fat (3500) and you get 11 pounds. Now, let's say you burn another 1000 calories a day through exercise, that's 30000 calories, or another 9 pounds or so. So it's physically POSSBILE to lose 20lbs in a month, it's not exactly HEALTHY. By exercise so much and not eating any more than 1200 calories a day you'll be very fatigued. Now, you could lose a bit more than the 20lbs if we account for water weight. It's likely that when you eat less you'll lose more water due to less sodium intake.

I'm no stranger to weight loss and serious workouts. I realize it's not a healthy method of losing weight but to me, it's more fun of losing weight this way when I'm going all out. I guess you can attribute this to my wrestling background when I was younger. I'd lose insane amount of weight in such a short time. I was just wondering if this was possible because of my current age, 26. Does muscle/body memory change over the course of time? We'll see.

I have no doubt you can do it, since you've done it before. And at 26, your metabolism is still close enough to its peak that you can lose weight almost as easily as you did at age 19. Just be careful, because drastic weight loss and starvation are known to breed eating disorders. If you starve your body long enough, you will be vulnerable to sugar carvings that often lead to binges. It can be months or years before your body gets back to normal.

It does not seem like you are any SMARTER than you were at 19 if you are still thinking about doing something so dangerous to your body. Lets just hope sooner or later you grow up before it is to late. Best of luck!

Just out of college i stopped running completely for like 9 months. I got up to 195lbs, made a bet to lose 20lbs in 3 months. I started running, stopped eating cheeseburgers for lunch everyday, ate better and lost 20lbs in 3 weeks. It can be done.

On the Biggest Loser the competitors lost 16 or so pounds the first week of their training regimine.

It will depend on how fat you are. If you are going from 300 to 280 it would be easy. 140 TO 120 will be a lot tougher.
