Obviously you're not going to see him running in the field since the video picks up basically where the guy has dropped out.

Not Salazar, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night wrote:

I don't but I've never seen another guy look so much like Al,
Likely his book would mention if he was in the race or not.

Can anyone find a list of all forty in this 10000m race?
Not all 40, but the first 30 are to find here;
http://thegreatdistancerunners.de/FernandoMamede.htmlWhat a fantastic runner Carlos Lopes was! Absolute pleasure to watch him finish that strong like here with this fantastic running style. Also Fernando Mamede and Steve Jones - absolute wonderful and courageous runners.
Lopes and Mamede are definitely two of my all-time favourites.
40 runners in a 10000m - absolutely laughable. Lopes might have broken the WR without lapping around 25 athletes, some of them probably two times.
So few track 10000 in Europe any more.
Lopes was a master of all three disciplines. So amazing to see him lapping top Marathon guys and Cross Country guys and then realizing he was better than them at that too.
