Guys in the OTQ range (or below) are pretty talented and dedicated athletes . Are they Kipchoge? No. Are they serious threats to make a National Team? Not likely. Should they be shown respect? Of course.
We should not praise mediocrity. 2:15-2:20 is mediocre on a global level. You wouldn’t praise a college team for beating a high school team? Step up to the pros and see where you stand. We see where they stand. Mediocre, at best. Run sub-2:10 or quit the sport.
