Why have only 5 of 7 XC runners score? Why not 6? 7?

Yeah I was going to say, my senior year of high school we had 6 guys total on our team :) I like the idea of coming up with an algorithm based on the number of students on each team. Like if N is the smallest number of kids on a team and M is an arbitrary minimum, then the race will score max(N*5/7,M) students (5/7*N instead of N to allow some of the kids to have a bad day).

Attempting to make top five on XC team is an extra goal for a runner.
