This is very sad. He just made a costly mistake that can derail his life. The fact that he went violent is the real problem, but that's why hallucinogens are so unpredictable. Likely he had no drug kit, no idea how pure or how truly powerful that microscopic dose was. Clearly he was a great student and solid runner to end up at Cornell, just so unfortunate. I've talked to some that credit a dose of LSD as a hugely impactful moment in time, and some wish to never see it again. I think we can even relate with how normalized and bizarre people can get while under the influence of alcohol, and that's a legal, socially accepted DRUG. I hope the young man gets help.
This is the reasonable response, everyone else here sounds like they have never been 20 years old. "HE SHOULD BE EXPELLED FOR TAKING ACID" nah, but the other stuff... ok yeah perhaps. Too bad his friends couldn't keep him in his room, although since he threatened his gf she can't be blamed. I also agree maybe the chemical composition was not as pure as one would hope.

If he had stayed in his room it likely would have worn off before practice. Now his life is ruined, no Ivy League education, no running DI, on a sexual offender list. Yes life is over as an 18 yo. He can't even flip burgers with a sex offense.

Before felling sorry for this perv, go back and re-read the thread on the Utah heptathlete that was murdered by a guy who started out just like him. Violence and acting out like this will only progress without a long jail sentence.
