phillies to go to the world series!
You are fool to think that the journalist did not tape the conversation. It can be proven if he said he had an agent if the conversation was taped. And remember, the NCAA rule states the written and VERBAL contracts with agents are disallowed.
He was asked by a reporter what the function of an agent would be if he were to have an agent in the future. He told the reporter that if he got an agent, the agent would do such and such, and the reporter quoted him as saying that my agent does such and such. And there are witnesses who will attest to the above, that Nick did not say that he has an agent.
so misrepresented, not misquoted.
dffe,
A major LOL on that one.
Who cares! Just give it up already, he didnt in anyway affect the outcome of any races or hurt anyones performance. Nick is out of the NCAA anyways, so does it honestly matter if he had an agent? Does it affect you in any way, however small, at all? Nick is a great runner and an even better person. You people really do jump at any occasion to attack people, dont you!
I don't know, ask the Fab 5 from the same school. Did receiving money from Boosters help their jump shot? Probably not, but all their records were removed and the program had some serious penalties.
And my point really isn't about Willis. It is about Let's Run and the way it handled Mullings. I really just wanted to see if an NCAA coach who had no problem posting emails of other NCAA institutions, would do the same in this situation.
The difference between Mullings and Willis is that Mullings didn't break any NCAA rules and should have run. Willis did and shouldn't have.
The fact that the founders of this web site did and said nothing in the Willis case, is all the information I need about their character.
I have a question, did it say anywhere in the article that Nick has been talking to this agent? Because I thought a coach could have communication with an agent as long as the student athlete didn't have any communication which if I'm right and I could be wrong Nick may know that an agent is interested in him and is working on things for him through his coach but doesn't have anything to do with the agent!
Student-athletes can talk to agents until they're blue in the face. Agents can see what's available in the market and report back to the athlete. They are just not allowed to make a written or verbal agreement to be represented by the agent. Obviously, Willis didn't make a written agreement, and a verbal agreement would be impossible to prove. So, he's in the clear. Let it drop.
BULLSHIT
So, you can have an agent as long as you don't make any verbal or written agreements with them. Is that correct?

Willis didn't break any NCAA rules either. The fact that you state he did, despite the fact that he has been cleared by the NCAA and no evidence has ever surfaced proving that he broke any rules, is all the information I need about your intelligence (or lack thereof) and ignorant stubborness. Mullings, on the other hand, did fail and IAAF drug test. The difference in these two cases is that there is evidence that Mullings did something to gain an advantage over his competitors. There is zero evidence that Willis did anything to gain an advantage over his competitors. Sorry, but something written in a newspaper dosesn't prove that rules were broken. It just proves that some reporters lack professionalism in their journalism.
So, he's in the clear. Let it drop.
I never once accused Willis of anything and I want it to be dropped too. But for you to tell me to drop it yet you wrote a response should I not be saying the same to you!
