On the contrary. It will be great to watch races that were going to be shown on the internet before blotracks would buy up the rights and put it behind a paywall.
Nothing wrong with them making content, but just buying up other content that was already free and holding it hostage is a poor way to attract business.

+1 on the Workout Wednesdays. They used to have a tab on the website for all of them. They used to come out literally every week. Now it’ll be one or two a month tops, with several weeks without them.

I might pay $12 to watch 2 meets, I might even pay up to $10 to watch a multi day meet or a day long meet. I would not buy a subscription for 30 (or whatever it is) a month though. How is $0 making more financial sense than 12-20? I get that flotrack is better off with $30 instead of $6, but I don't get how they are better off with 0 instead of 6. Imagine if the nfl charged 30$ a month or $150 for the whole season. No other content, just nfl, and only some games. They'd lose some fans.
Because then all the parents paying $30/month or $250/year would only have to pay for the few meets their kid runs
Is it just me? I pay only $79 per year for the 2 subscriptions. I used to pay separately but then they bundled them a few years ago. It is a great deal. I don’t know what meets people are referring to that they used to watch for free. Flotrack is covering a bunch of XC meets this fall that you couldn’t watch until Flotrack.

You have a great deal! $79 a year is cheap for what they provide, cut back on Starbucks a couple of times a month and your covered.
Im not sure why people think that produced covered of events should be free, it takes time and money to get the events broadcast. They are not operating a charity.
Our sport needs their coverage and the exposure it gives.
Their weak spots are visible , inexperienced marketing people , below par commentary.
Bottom line, they provide a service that's good for all, open up your pocketbooks and support them.

Nobody is saying that. What people are upset about is when they buy rights to events that were already going to be shown free.
Have you ever watched the New Balance indoor nationals? Fantastic meet to watch and it is free because New Balance pays for it and hopes you buy their shoes. Ncaa is a multi million dollar organization that has a couple hundred universities that could produce and show the meets as part of their education. They already do that with indoor sports on the big ten network. Ncaa xc used to be free for many years because they basically just showed what they were showing on the big screen at the meet.
Thousands of dumb kids pay to compete at NB fake nationals. NB doesn't pay. BTN is not free.
Surprised with the multi-billion dollar spending on original/new content of Netflix/Amazon ect that one them hasn’t bought up flosports for the content and run it as some kind of subsidiary. Maybe to many legal issues with content owners.
My wife and just dropped Netflix, but have FloTrack subscription.

Flosports had their best year ever in 2020. There are no problems. In fact, they have been hiring.
Maybe they should stop charging 30 a month when they don't even have meets to show. That is double the price of an HBO subscription for zero content. Someone else mentioned charging like $5 a meet. That would be a much better way to go.

Yeah this is true, I was trying to figure out how Milesplit continues to be so terrible and saw they had multiple openings for software engineers in Texas that had knowledge about track specifically. They are leaving money on the table with Milesplit, more people would subscribe if they would offer more reports and tools for all the data they have, but they haven’t updated the site in years. People would pay money for their free meet management software too (Racetab) if they would just fix some bugs and maintain it. Direct athletics charges $200/year for MeetPro, no reason Flo couldn’t do the same.
Fenton and Floreani are both millionaires several times over. Few people in the board are worth more. There is a great podcast about Ryan's real estate empire. They are doing well.
