You heard it here first . Chemiel beats her in xc but she wins nxn convincingly . She loses Milrose to Chemiel and Connolly of Mass and skips indoor nationals . Outdoors sets national record in 3000 at NYS and 5000 record at nationals . Lane ducks her the entire year. Signs letter of intent with Stanford or Princeton in July .

I hear it, but I am wondering what you base that on? Assuming (projecting) Tuohy will significantly regress? Chmiel's times seem to have levelled out.

That could be, but if folks wonder how a 15 year old will be impacted by completing puberty, you sure have to ask the same question about a 14 year old. And the data I have seen says Alayna's times at 14 pale in comparison to Tuohy's at that age. But I do hope she also becomes a great runner.
We know about her endurance, but does she have raw sprint speed? Is this just the woman's version of Ritz, who developed real early but couldn't put away word class runners in the last 400? Perhaps a little to early to know how her foot speed will develop?
I don't think I ever said Tuohy would ever be able to compete with the world's best (and I don't mean just in her age group). I agree at least at this point she has shown no signs of being able to run a fast time via a strong kick - she just runs a strong, steady pace. At some point you run into someone who can handle the early pace and also kick, at least in the 2 mile and shorter races. For example, right now the young Irish girl, 17 I think, could handle everything Tuohy has and more.
