I had a stress fracture in my calcaneous and did not have an elephant step on my heel. My PT was so surprised she asked me if I had fallen off a roof recently. But, it was in the anterior process so a much thinner part of the bone. Kind of rare but also not that unheard of especially following an ankle sprain or if the person just has bad ankle stability.
What marathon is Gwen Jourgensen running this fall? Keiffer is going back to NYC. I could see Gwen going to Chicago because that's a Nike race. Any word on Sarah Sellers next race?
If Hasay did have a stress reaction that was discovered right before Boston, she probably didn’t start running off the treadmill until mid May. After missing that much time, why would she try to race a spring marathon? Chicago is in October so it makes sense to just scrap racing and just get ready for the fall.
Because that is not how Jordan or NOP works.

A bad day in Boston, she might have not done so well with cold rain on a slow day.
Probably the best thing for her in the long run. She had a good training build up, a good rest from the injury, a good start for fall training and now she will be ready for another fast Chicago.
Win or top finish she is going to end up the fastest marathon time average of any American woman ever.

This post is made on assumptions and poorly educated analysis that has nothing to do with reality. And last time I checked June was not in the fall, but it's not like you were doing so well before that blunder.

I posted this 5 weeks ago. We are now 3 weeks away from Chicago and still no sign of Cragg or Hasay. I was called crazy in this thread.

This is correct. I listened to Cragg on a podcast yesterday and she admitted she missed track season due to an injury (which also set back her marathon training; she was in Mammoth at altitude for training during the podcast). Apparently the injury was a hamstring issue caused by a fall.
