Are they REALLY going to go for the record, or will they just race for the win? 15 seconds is a lot of time to make up (say close to a 100m?) The weather could be crappy come race time. They could just go the tactical route to try to break each other so they could win. I don't know if that will necessarily mean a record threat.
Most of those women like to run fast. They aren't like the top guys who patiently sit.
Kelati and Kurgat will be fresh....No reason not to push the pace early.

I was thinking about starting a thread about women pro runners these days seem more willing to run hard at the limit more so than the men. The men are pushing the bounds at the half and full marathon distance, but it seems every men's distance race ends up with the pacer way in front and then a parade until the last lap. In some of these women's races, the leaders are running the pacer off the track before their duties are complete.

Quick review. I was right in the 400m, 400 hurdles, and 4x400. And great to see a record in the 4x100 as well!
