Somebody needs to tell that to Alexi Pappas.

Revisionist music history is a harsh school marm.
It's amazing how many - obviously "younger" - people can not see the total picture. He changed lyrics forever. And, as a previous poster said, he is one of the most admired artists - by his peers - in the history of rock.
And, again, he can sing very well...or used to be able to. For example, his version of "The House of the Rising Sun" from his first album is amazing, and highlights The Animals' vocalist's lack of subtlety .
"But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone living in a vault
But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him"
-Bob Dylan, "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)"
many 60's era anti-War and Civil Rights heros gave their lives to create the America we have today. thanks to out American heros like Robert Zimmerman!
He had the first commercially successful rap song.
As far as bluesmen go, I'll take me s'more that R L Burnside

Does he stink? Or am I missing something?

"gem"?? More like an all time classic that will not soon be outdone!! Archive this one.
For younger people, younger than 35, a complete evaluation of Dylan isn't helped by the fact that the original "album" versions of his songs are generally not available on Youtube and elsewhere on the 'Net. They're left to make their judgments based on outtakes and bootlegs and poor video copies of live performances. They're getting a small and distorted sense of what he's done.

I heard him in 2003 at Big Sky. Most overrated piece of crap of all-time. I heard Willy Nelson a few wks later-- now he was fantastic.
Which Dylan song(s) did Willy cover during his show? He almost always does at least one.
I have seen him live a few times. He's rail thin. I always wondered if he would have been a good runner on some hard miles.

None. Willy was definitely the better singer and performer. Bob was awful and underwhelming. It was a real bummer. It probably sounds cool to say you like listening to Bob, but he sucks, period.

Your post here was a list of three of Dylan's most popular songs and a limp sarcastic comment. But hey, you registered!
PS
Interesting how you always mention clowns.

I'm guessing Neil similarly sucks???

The hollow horn plays wasted words
Proves to warn
That he not busy being born
Is busy dying."
"Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred."
"Advertising signs that con you
Into thinking you're the one
That can do what's never been done
That can win what's never been won
Meantime life outside goes on
All around you."

And whose fault is that? Greed destroying his own legacy, serves him right.
No he doesn’t stink. Love his music but do not ever go to see him in concert. Brutal. He has more than stood the the test of time. I am always amazed when people say they hate him. Surely with his catalogue of music there has to be something they like.
He also always had great musicians play with him like Mike Bloomfield.

If it weren't for the notoriety Dylan accidentally got by controversially using an electric guitar in folk music, nobody would ever have heard of him. And if his recordings somehow existed anyway, and people heard them, they would say they were crap.
This is an uneducated statement. Dylan was very well known before his electric coming out at Newport. Why do you think he was playing that festival to begin with?
