Ryan Hall 2:04:58 = underwhelming, wind-aided performance. Kamworor 13:01 = GOAT??

Hall had a 15 mph wind behind him. Kamworor had a 25 mph wind. There are a lot of people who could split 13 flat with a 25 mph tailwind. Gimme a break.

Lol. There has been one person ever that has run near 13 flat after running the first 15k of a half marathon in any conditions ever. That person is Geoffrey Kamworor. Give respect where it's due.

Forget the wind. Kamworor's performance is significantly EPO-aided, and thus null and void.

Did you read the article? This is what I wrote:

Obviously it was an aided split, but he still crushed some of the world's best over the final 6.1k.

The time he ran for the last 6.1km is totally irrelevant. It isn't even worth stating.

Gatlin ran 9.3 or something with a big fan behind him.

Mike Boit ran 3:30 or so for a mile downhill.

Kamworor did crush the field over the last 5/6km but he was always the favourite to win and I'd have liked to see the likes of Karoki, Kipchoge, Kipsang etc in that race before calling that field 'the world's best'.

Yeah, ok. “A lot” of people, if you say so. But Hall isn’t and never was one of those people, so there’s that.

I actually came back to add the most important point against Hall’s run: he got LICKED in that race! 4th place, nearly two minutes back of the winner. How are you going to say that’s a comparably impressive performance? “Wow, look how fast the 4th place finisher ran! Never mind the three men who destroyed him.” Meanwhile, Kamworor was dominant.

Additionally, what Kamwowor did was more comparable to what the winner of that fabled boston marathon ran. Which at the time, although ineligible for a WR, was rightly considered one of the best marathon performances the world had seen.

But Ryan Hall's fastest marathon performance costed him his running career from overtraining.

Crazy for an American. About 60 people have broken his marathon time on normal courses. Hall is not remarkable at all in distance running while Kamworor is a multiple time world champion.

I'm still a Ryan Hall fan.

If we agree that Hall was the pace maker, that means that he had people behind him blocking the wind from aiding him. Therefore, Hall did not benefit from the wind at his back. Hall is a 2:04 marathoner!
