Yes.

-No, just 100% nuh-uh. Zoom fly vs Vaporfly 4% is completely different. Fly is 2oz heavier and MUCH stiffer. No pop to it. No zoom x. The 4% has a plate made of carbon fiber. Floatride is definitely NOT the same thing as Zoomx. My feeling is that the overwhelming majority of the negative posters here have not run a hard session or race in the 4%. Simply the best flat I've ever had. Fairly recent PR of 2:17 in them.
You didn't read what I wrote. I'm not comparing how the shoes feel to run in. I"m comparing the manufacturing technologies used. Some have claimed that the reason Nike hasn't released very many of these is because they're "hard to manufacture". Near as I can tell the manufacturing nuances are inserting a full length plate in foam (already a demonstrated technology) or difficulty working with the new foam itself (already a demonstrated technology). The floatride foam is 100% the same foam/base material from the same supplier as ZoomX foam. Sure, the design is different than those other shoes, but the "manufacturing difficulties" are hogwash. They have the money and resources to make more if they wanted to. Or is it coincidence that they suddenly are available right before every major marathon season and 'scarce' in the down times?
You're correct. I misread the intention of your post.
Anyone know what time today they're being released online?
Now!
They are on sale at nike.com right now. Haven't seen them on the other sites. Some sizes are already gone.
Color is Obsidian/Neutral Indigo/Metallic Silver
Haven't seen anything on how they fit. Are they true to size?
Thx.
Yes, I strongly believe that the 4% haters on here have never run in these shoes. The bounce and return you get from the ZoomX is unrivaled in any other shoe I've worn. They are not merely hype, they are the real deal. I was a streak 6 wearer previous to the 4%, would swear by those shoes. I also previously ran in NB 1400 v4 and Asics Gel Hyperspeed 3's (the Ryan Hall white/red pair). All of the above were great flats. But they were just that - flats. Low to the ground, minimal. I'd feel beat up after doing hard workouts or races longer than 10km in them. With these, you can still run at speed, but the cushioning and responsiveness of the foam helps reduce the pounding your body sustains. I would almost NEVER run in my flats for an entire long run. Maybe 2/3rd of a long run in trainers, then switch to the flats for a fast finish final 1/3rd. With the 4%, I do the entirety of my long runs in them, and feel good afterwards.
I wear a half size down down compared to my trainers.
Damn. Had them in my cart, then lost them.

They're awesome. I've run two races in them (5k and half) and now could not imagine wearing another shoe on race day. I bought another pair today just to stick in the closet and use only for marathons so I can wear my current pair at shorter races and not worry about wearing them out for a fall marathon. Your legs just don't take the pounding over distance in them that most other shoes give you.
Any idea if/when they'll be up on Eastbay or Running Warehouse?
Went on sale on Nike at just after 10:00 a.m. this morning, all sizes above 6.5 gone by noon.

And those shoes are all on their way to Hopkinton as we type..
I got the notification and happened to be at my computer. I immediately put a pair of 12.5s into my cart and was already logged in. I couldn't even complete the checkout before it told me they were no longer available. 3 more times the size came available again over the next hour. 3 more times I made it to the complete purchase without being able to. Of course, eBay is already full of these for $500+ for people who don't even have them in hand yet. Nike's website needs some work and how they roll these out does too.

People will start comparing times from last year to this year which will be slower to "prove" that the vaporfly's are all marketing without taking into account that people this year will be running into driving rain and 15mph headwind.

Pretty similar experience. I kept seeing it available but disappeared when I tried to put it in my cart, or I would not be able to go out.
Kept refreshing, and eventually nabbed a pair. Not even sure if it will fit. Hope they will.

Not "Some" have claimed. Nike has stated this.
I don't understand these to be "event" shoes because it isn't like kids are skipping school to camp out overnight and buy them at Footlocker. From what I can tell, everyone that has raced in them loves them. I would think the right thing to do would be to get mass trial before competitors come out with a comparable shoe.
They have done an amazing job managing Air Jordan's. Did a mediocre job of managing Air Yeezy's. Maybe they know what they are doing, maybe they don't.
Still have an orange in size 4 if anybody is interested
