joshua mcdougal 14:07
joshua mcdougal 14:07
Wisco frosh
Withrow 13:35
Eagon, 13:53, 3:47
Wagner 14:04
Withrow and Eagon also ran 8:06 and 8:07 indoors at little meets which they both one.
won*
Abbott and Rupp get my votes for best mid and long distance Frosh. Withrow gets respect, but he's not running for Wisco.
Where is Gavin Coombs?
david kinsella (freshman at portland, ran an 8:55 full 2 mile last year) redshirted track, only ran one 5k and one 10k unattached. but he ran 14:10 and 29:20. both were the first time he'd raced those distances on a track, and they were early in the season. he's a beast.
Max Smith (PC) 3min 43.9secs 1500m Brown Invitational
Joe Pierre of Marquette, 1:49.54 800m
Alex Dunn, Cal Poly SLO has tremendously improved. Ran 4:10/9:0X last year in my HS league, now he's at 14:04!
So basically, he can hold his 2 mile pace from last year for another mile...big leap!
Steeplechase anyone?
Jake Watson (Notre Dame) 9:04
others??
Ben True's 3:46 was a solo effort. second place was in around 3:52. That's got to be worth a little extra props.
Just looking at the US Junior list on dyestat - who is Jack Mann from Arizona State? 3:46 for 1500m. Looked on ASU's website - said the kid ran 4:20 last year in high school - that is a HUGE improvement.

He also got 3rd at the Willamette invite running unattached. As long as we're talking about Rupp the "freshman," you also have to name John Moore as a sophomore (don't remember if he redshirted track last year) at 28:58 10k.
great point... big ben ran that beast solo from 1200 out that kid is money in the bank.
Poor americans, why do you run scared of us kenyans, y not just get your ass in gear and run...its proven you can run fast at young age (Kerron clement did it)and we have guys in the 40s still running, but with that kind of mentality you will be reading our backs forever....ya forever.

Heath is the man and will be one of the big guns in collegiate running within two years.

How is Rupp a "freshman"? He really is a freshman! Graduated 04! Moore graduated 03!!

I think Geiger is doing what he does best...slowly turning talented runners into nothings.
