17 Year Old Runs 3:44!!!!!! 1500m!!!!!!

Brandon Miller ran 1:49 last year at 15. He set many age group records in the 1500 over the past 6 or 7 years. He is one of our few chances to run 3:44 before senior year.

3:44= 4:02 mile. Last year, five U.S. boys ran faster, some were 17, some 18. Two more were at 4:02.

You know nothing about Priddey and have never seen him run, but you come onto this site and spout bs left and right. What a clownjob.

It's not the fastest time I could ever conceive of. Therefore, you shouldn't have started a thread about it.

Steve Cram ran 3:57 mile at 17. A good run by the young boy saw him run in Australia last year. Progression will be interesting.

How do you know that I have never seen him run? Perhaps you might be wrong, 100% wrong. Ouch!

There's a few who have done this in the UK even fairly recently, there's always someone under 18 in the 3:45 region, it's uncommon but not otherworldly. There's a few on the list who have run 3:40 or so before their 18th birthdays (1st or 2nd year U20s)

Everyone saying "so and so ran faster at 17", relax. We are simply saying some 17 year old kid ran 3:44, which is very fast for that age. Just acknowledge it was a fast time, no need to make sure everyone knows he isn't the fastest 17 year old ever.

No way this is a New Zealand age record. I have a friend who is in his 40's that was 3:43 at 17 in New Zealand and he didn't have the age group record then.

yep. nz age group record for Priddey. 16 year that ran 8-16 3 k last year spent 4 months in a moon boot in winter (N. Moulai) . Ran a pb of 3.47 in the same race as Priddey . These boys are the real thing - there is a lot of woman that shave the face more than these boys . get them scholarships if they haven't already .

Seven u-18s ran 3:44 or faster last season, five of them were Africans so we don't really know if they were as young as they say :

I think it's partly that they lose confidence when they're sent out to world junior competitions and they get destroyed by doped up 25 year old African age cheats. Then they probably come on to forums like this and read the likes of Rekrunner and Ventilo telling them that they can never compete with Africans.

Britain does have a stack of talent emerging at the 800m right now - five of the top 13 European u18s last season, including Alex Botteril at 1 and Max Burgin at 3. Max Burgin recorded his 1:49 at 15 years 1 month old. We also have 4 in the top 12 European 1500m and that doesn't include Burgin who only ran two 1500m races last year yet recorded the 19th best European u18 time.

Another interesting fact that in the GB top 50 ranking list for 800m last season you had a 15 year old (Max Burgin) and a 46 year old (Anthony Whiteman).

Priddey has committed to 'Oklahoma state university' whereas Moulai has committed to 'Ole Miss' both prestigious and consistently producing successful (in the field of Cross-country and Track and Field).

We also have George Mills who as a 17 year old in 2016 ran 3:44 (2nd only to Jakob in Europe) and 1:48.36 (1st in Europe u18). Unfortunately he must have gotten injured early last season.

Jake Heyward won the European u20 1500m last year at 18 (the race in which Jakob fell) and Markhim Lonsdale won the silver in the 800m.
