Then I appolgize for assuming you weren't. The seeking of "profesional help" is much easier said than done. That particular concept comes from the "classes" (i.e. socio-economic groups) other than that within which the Lindgrens were raised. To be sure my family would't have recommended seeking "professional help" were I in the same situation, so I can relate to that not being a realistic option in his mind -- especially since it entails admitting you need help. I'm not arguing one needs to take his side in the matter, just that it's very very easy to take a self-riteous stance on the matter without considering how he viewed things.
