Kind of obvious to the non-confused...that 10000 where he crushed Bekele and the recent fastest (or 2nd?) ever last 5k of a marathon in Chicago points to him being ahead of Bekele in the Marathon.
Also, if Bekele was a top dog then he would have been running in the biggest show on Earth--the Olympics just like Rupp and Kipchoge had.

Rupp has yet to time trial a race so his times will not be up to par with other top marathoners. He is the best tactical racer in the marathon right now as well as the fastest over 10k (Bekele's track times were too long ago). I can see him winning almost any tactical marathon out there right now.
Speed is not everything, winning is.

What marathoner in the 70s would be able to beat Galen? Frank Shorter with his 27:45 and 2:10:30 PRs? What a joke. Galen would dust him in any situation. Fast, slow, hot, cold, it doesn't matter.

Yeah let's put Osako ahead of Rupp even though Rupp crushed him in Boston this spring. Please explain to me how you think Rupp is only capable of 2:09 on a fast, rabbited course even though he ran 2:09 with a blistering 10k finish. That would be like if someone closed a 5:00 mile in 60 seconds and you argued they weren't capable of breaking 5 in an even paced race.
