Nike Sponsorship for Average Runner

In Paris we have an "Adidas Runners League". It's split into 9 teams, each one has a "leader".

I know the leaders get some gear, and the runners in the groups (which are open and each of the 9 has 100s of members) get tshirts and some other stuff if they participate in events. The ones who went to the Frankfurt (i think) half all got windbreakers from adidas. I participated in the "league final" and got an adios boost for free.

Actually they're pretty fast for buncha chicks. I think the wispy mustache is from their inflated testosterone levels.

Also you can buy elite gear on eBay as well to look super legit. Nothing like ripping a 40:00 10k in a full elite kit

I've run some local races where New Balance appears to sponsor local racers. At a minimum, the women that may be spnsored are wearing the full NB racing kit. None of them can come close to breaking 18 for 5k, but they look good in their kit.

Hahaha! I know EXACTLY who you're talking about. I was actually googling something to try and vet or falsify his claims and landed on your thread. He's full of it... and full of himself. I'm surprised to hear that so many people you know are buying this garbage from him. It's not just the running though, it's everything. The Nike Run Team lie is just the tip of the iceberg for this self boasting social media clown. Sad because he's a really nice guy... but the self aggrandizing lies are absurd. My group of buddies that know him have a good laugh at every one of his posts.

There are a LOT of people on IG that you'd swear are sponsored, but are not. Either they are pretending to be an influencer, or are pretending and hoping the company will see it and sign them to some sort of ambassador program. It does work from time to time.

There is this dude Charlie Jabalay on IG.. he's a previous hip hop producer turned "athlete". He wanted to be a pro athlete as a kid, so he made a fake Nike commercial, posted it and Nike saw it. They liked it so much they actually have him a sponsorship. Cool dude, but far from an elite.. so there are various ways, especially with Nike, since that company is massive.
