I'm disappointed in you LR sleuths, trolls and truth seekers as some of you are saying she's the real deal yet she's not being held to the same standards you normally expect. WTF is going on, is she a scammer or isn't she?

Mimi's running looks legit and is not like the previous scammers. But we just don't know what her connection is to Ben Rogers. I have emailed and sent a Twitter message to Mimi's accounts but her support crew manning them have not responded yet.

Who holds the existing record?

Something else interesting I've found. Apparently Mimi Anderson thinks/thought Amy Hughes actually ran her 7-day treadmill legitimately according to a Facebook post she made and essentially endorsed Amy with what she wrote, whereas we know MUCH better about what Amy Hughes really did by cheating and telling lies from her thread.

Going by this and Mimi's connection with Ben Rogers, I think Mimi may not have the best judgement of true character and deductive skills. She may be good at running but it looks like she doesn't have the ability to analyze the running and background of others like we do here.

Mimi was here in the UK locally to me training flying out a few days before her attempt.

HWMBO is not Ben, it is her husband who she always calls HWMBO. Check her blogs etc.

Mimi does not work, husband provides very nicely from what I can see and she is sponsored (low level).

You are correct. She is a housewife with a talent for running but I wouldn't say worldly wise when it comes to nefarious types etc. In many ways a typical grandma who dotes on her grandchildren, loves her dogs and leads a comfy life in a very nice house in the countryside. I guess if she wasn't running she woud be doing good works.

After doing some research, I'm a bit confused about this record. Lorna Michael and Eiko Endo both ran los Angeles to New York in 64 days during the Trans Am footraces of 1993 and 1995 respectively. Mavis Hutchinson did 69 days in 1978 and is credited with the record. Guinness recognise crossings between and west coast city and New York as long as the distance is equivalent or greater than LA to NY.

On the mens side, Pete Kostelnick, Marshall Ulrich and Frank Giannino all did San Francisco to New York which is 200 miles longer with more climbing.

It seems crazy not to have a standard route.

I believe Mimi is legit.

The problem with scam artists is they like to have trophy friends. To me it looks like Rodgers turned up at a couple of Mimi's training runs, ran with her, turned on his dubious charm and got a selfie with her.

I wonder how many selfies have been taken with Mimi and Sandra now they are on their transcon runs and whether they did background checks on each person prior to allowing the selfie to be taken.

As an aside, in his biography Steve Ovett has some scathing comments about a restaurant owner who had his photo taken with Steve and then used it to advertise his restaurant and imply they were old buddies and Steve was a regular customer etc.

Why should we consider a brewery in Ireland as the certifier for an American Transcontinental record?
