This is no kind of challenge. In preparation for my last marathon I topped out with a 129 mile week. Since I usually drink about 2 beers a night that makes for 14 beers that week. 129 + 14 = 143.
Get some old-school 70's era runners on this board, I'm sure were talking 170-180.
140 is cake.
Indeed! Just goes to show that even a stupid idiot is beyond budorcoor's lame-ass 140club (and 50hrs a week...waa - waa) aspirations. It's not that Letsrun is sooo tough, that guy is just an utter pansy. So, hold your head high, stupid idiot, fore there exists a more stupid idiot than you on this very thread! At least it appears that even he was smart enough to recognize that he should go back to runner's world to receive glorious praise for his gallow-drinking-running accomplishments.
Go Home
Hey, if that is a good standard for budordoors, he should go for it. No need to rain on his parade even if it seems meager.
Some months ago a dude named Fugazi (perhaps Rexing himself?) told of how he was going to do a 50-50-50 (drinks, miles, hours). Obviously, this is way more impressive (other impressive prior performances were mentioned as well). Later in the thread (see link), they were even coming up with additional considerations in order to take the achievement to another level.
Never did hear the outcome... did they make it to the other side?
Go Home, what's your gripe? Other than the fact that the kids at school used to make fun of you. And still do.
You remind me of people that are butt slow at marathons, so they move up to 50 or 100 miles races and thumb their noses at marathoners as weaker and inferior. No, marathoners are just less lame.
I guess if you have no life and only drink and run, then you can feign insult at the low threshold of the 140 club...
...although it sounds like you're not even feigning insult, so you must really have no life.
Oh yeah, and I'm really just bitter because I wish I could do the 200+ club because then I would be fulfilled in life. I won't disrespect the sanctimoniousness of the feat by having the audacity to try to be humorous and pose an innocent hypothetical like budorcoors did on the issue while killing time at work on a Friday.
Have fun performing the beer portion of your 200 club alone in the solitude of your mom's basement. From there I'm sure you'll spend your time wisely, attacking more people in cyberspace to hide the pain of your inadequacies. You're not fooling anyone.
P.S. Budorcoors, have your cake and eat it too.
I shouldn't be proud, but I'm telling the truth. I was 6-2 155. I ran around 90-100 miles per week and drank 50-70 beers per week. I did this for about 10 straight weeks and didn't have a single hangover. My tolerance was very high, so I didn't feel drunk, slightly buzzed on some nights.
It was basically run 8-10 at noon, + 4-6 at 6 at night, with a run or 2 at 13-15+ per week. 8-10 beers is nothing over a 5 hour period. The typical drinking time was 7:00PM-12:00. Personally, I can drink more after intense exercise without effect.
140 club,
its a great idea, heck i know i have been close to it and probably over a few times
if 1 beer =1 shot, then were talking of being over almost every week of off season.
now im totally sober out of the trouble that i was doing, but in the drinking times for me it was common to double both loads, beer and running; 6-9am (2 cold ones afterwards) and 9-12pm - with 2-4 cold ones at night.
so min 6+1+9+2 = 18 points max 9+2+12+4 = 27.
7 days ^ 126 to 169
I can say being sober and running. Its different. couldnt run for 3 months when i had the craving (cross sensatization in the brain) , having the runners high and buzz are so similar, cant go sober and run - result is even more of a boozer. Drinking that much though 140 club, ought to be outlawed for runners. Its simply way to unhealthy and detramental for training, I should know it almost killed him.
