Sorry to disappoint, I know exactly what I'm talking about. Cam's wife (then fiancee) moved to Portland for school. Cam moved with and joined NOP. Cam had 5 years to leave if he didn't like what he was seeing. Now that his wife is done with school and he's underperforming he may as well move on. Completely practical and self-serving move, nothing deserving of "respect."
Dude, everyone is self-serving. Most teams and sponsors throw an athlete under the bus almost immediately after a bad year, major injury. So what is your point? What are you trying to prove? Nothing, because you obviously have nothing of value to say.

Hassan is already a very good runner (1:58/3:56) before she joined NOP.

Unless I am missing something, it didn't say he left Nike (or was dropped), just that he is changing coaches. Does anyone know for sure if he is still a Nike sponsored athlete?

All of the moving and dealing with the elite teams is such a bore to me. Levins has been pretty quiet for a while anyway. Who cares a-boat him?

The truth is no matter the the coach or environment he trains in the Cam is just injury prone. He new change is probably good at this stage of his career.
What will he miss by moving on? Probably the rehab support and therapy that big budget Nike has.
My two bits is that his marathon window is closing, he should start to focus on this event before it is to late for him.

I would say anybody who can run 160 mi/week consistently is not injury prone

"Rehab support and therapy" are not needed to run well. They are trinkets of wealthy runners.
it's so incredibly hard to be a successful professional runner.
remember the scene in Once a Runner before Cassidy races that fast mile and Denton notices he has the "mental part" and isn't going to collapse from the pressure before the race even starts? Yeah, that part is rare and equally important as talent. Clayton Murphy has it. Centro has it. Wheating does not have it. Webb didn't even really have it
if you have the talent you need the durability.
if you have talent and durability, you need the mental toughness to train hard, race under extreme pressure and anxiety.
on top of all that, you need to be able to find the calm and separation from it all in all of the hours that you aren't training. which is a lot of hours
you need to be obsessed but able to somehow detach from it at times.
or just play video games
it's pretty amazing how Galen Rupp has handled it all these years. Maybe being married with kids is enough distraction, but he can handle the pressure and keep performing and winning medals.

I am proving that he did NOT leave to take a stand on doping (about 5 years too late for that) and did NOT do anything deserving of 'respect.'

Respect to him for making a good decision for himself, which personally I feel is a good choice for him, going back to his roots as a top notch runner and with Eric Houle as his coach.
After watching his "Driven" documentary I have come to the conclusion that Cam is one of the stupidest human beings I have ever seen in my life. Seriously go watch his 1k workout where he starts out at 2:36 and ends in 3:10 and says it is okay because "its the effort that counts". Not to mention he did that in 35 degree weather in short shorts while his spikes that were tied too tight ripped his feet apart.
I'm just glad he has a "renewed new enthusiasm."
