Now that he's made a US team, how much longer until he decides to leave the Beasts for something bigger and better? Obviously he's still got years of developmental potential - I just find it hard to believe that he stays with Mackey and Brooks much longer given his increasing success.

Why would there be any reason to leave? He's been improving every year since he joined them. If he was that type of person always looking for something better, wouldn't he have left Ashland after winning D2 so many times? No, because hes found a program that works for him.Seems like a dumb thing to do that too many elite runners end up doing. Find something that works, get greedy, then end up worse off. Soratos moving back to Montana is a perfect example of what more people should be doing.

You're a troll I presume? In the off chance you aren't, please try to understand that going for the win if you don't necessarily have the most talented is rarely a good strategy. Look at Ben Blankenship. I admire the guts, but it won't get him on the team, nor the win. Smart race by Windle.

First off..Shut up with the "Troll" crap and yes your "Off Chance" guess is correct, I'm not. If you read the post you'll see that I was making a right/wrong observation of how he ran the race. He obviously ran very cautious and simply waited to see how he was going to feel as the race progressed and luckily made the team. That being said, he was lucky to not get boxed in or run out of time to catch 3rd place. Your "Talent" comment doesn't hold water when you're in the U.S. Championship 800m final. If he's talented enough to make the final he's talented enough to win. Again, he ran well enough to make the team but that strategy won't work to win many races and when you run in any race you run to win not for 2nd or 3rd. He's a very talented runner and was LUCKY to make the team!

FYI- I'm 99.9% sure that I've run more championship races than you'll ever dream about.

Wow, try not to get so revved up next time, the guy didn't even say anything negative after the troll accusal (which is pretty darn tame). I see so many people criticizing kickers who stay back of the pack, forgetting that the reason they have a kick is because they saved energy in the first half of the race--look at Sowinski, look at Blankenship. I'm sure his racing style will evolve, but criticizing the tactics of a guy who was barely slated to make the final and ended up making the WC team seems pretty misguided, regardless of how many championship races the criticizer has raced.

Theres another couple of threads with someone jizzing all over themselves regarding half breed Donovan "he will run 1:39 and break the WR" Brazier, and one of a black, Duane Solomon, who didnt even run. You could try that..
