Boston was pretty recent, marathon training saps your speed, and Rupp hasn't looked good in recent races. I'd bet on the field.
I predict 28 flat pace most of the way, Rupp will try to string it out with about a mile to go, but at least one guy will hang with the surge and outkick him by 3+ seconds on the last lap.
The heat is a bit of an X-factor though

His PB is strong, but there's a lot more pressure and gamesmanship in a race like this. Rupp's status as international star has weight in a race like this. Plus he's good at preparing for a hot race and usually has an awesome race plan. think about how kamworor and those kenyans always say they're gonna beat Farah and never do it, that's kind of like this situation with korir. Unless Korir has a set plan going into the race for how to do it, he's not good enough to adapt mid-race and take over to beat a guy like Rupp, especially if Rupp is having a good day. Salazar + Rupp is better than any other USA runner + coach combo right now.race will probably be close to 29:00 finish time because the weather is so lousythose are my points and predictions
