Why are you so stressed about time? It appears you are on a track team with available races. Run to win if possible. Have your coach get you into a good race with runners in the 1:57 range. Work on moving up 3rd 200. Work to be in position coming off the last turn. Drive to win.
You will go sub-2 this year.
Update: I ran 2:01 this weekend. Came through the 600 feeling amazing at 1:26 with a 57 first lap. Probably on pace for 1:57-1:58 but just didn't have it mentally the last 200. Now I know I can go under 2 though if I can just dig deep that last 200.
