Are you married? Ask your wife if she thinks it a good idea, and then listen to her advice.

You must be really stupid
You live in Philadelphia.
Yesterday I ran on an indoor 10-lap to the mile track:
1x2-lap (352 yd) @ 5:50 min/mile pace or 87.5 440 pace (80% effort)
1x 2-lap @ 6:15 min/mile pace or 93.5 440 pace (80% effort)
3x1-lap @ 5:50 min/mile pace or 87.5 440 pace (80% effort I guess)
I'm 55, 6'1", 208-lbs. I think I could maybe do an 85 or so now. I just started back running in Jan after having a 1 1/2 month gout attack in my left knee (see what all you young people have to look forwards to). Was 252-lbs 09 Sept 2015. I still need to lose about 30-lbs. I should be able to run a 75 by then at the same level of fitness I'm at now. With some training I should be able to break 70.
My fastest young 400 time was in practice, a 51.xx - 400 m (solo and not all out) and 22.3- 200 m (going about as fast as could go [after 2x 23.0 200m] but 1st time doing this short of a workout that season [kept up with 400 guy who ran 47.9 later that year]) both hand timed.
If I can lose some more weight, I may try to run in my states senior summer games and go for the 400 or 800 or both.
I would love to, but all tracks within 15 miles of my home are fenced and locked. Where do you people live that have public track access?
49.70 in trainers
It's way too early in the year to be running an all out 400, unless you live in Florida or something.

I've been an ultrarunner for about 7 years now and run 70 mpw on trails. I've never done something as easy as 400m so was curious. That was fun, hahaha.

This should be interesting to see what we all can do.

First, I thought my heart was gonna explode! I'm a big guy anyway. 50" around shoulders and big legs. So I'mm not as "fat" as the weight indicates. I could stand to lose 25 lbs though. I was hoping for under 1:30. Guess I'll need to take up track work in my general running. I'm only running 2-3 miles 3 times a week and "running" is a generous term. LOL

Commentary or other info: training for Boston is getting monotonous so I went to the track and spiked up for an all out lap.

Can you explain how you knew you had Gout? I've got a mysterious pain in my big toe that I think may be Gout.
I like this. Because why not.

Kindof a has been. Having a kid really kills the training time. Hurt a lot more than I would have liked.

I've had issues with it for about 10-yrs now. It's easy to recognize in my big toes but not in my patella tendon. I thought it might be a tear but it went away one day and came back the next so I knew it wasn't a tear. I've had it it is several places besides my big toes. Sucks big time. Also I've had blood work and bought a meter to monitor it (I'm out of strips now) and that is how I was diagnosed. I take allopurinol daily but I still have issues sometimes. My big toe was having some yesterday and I took some indomethicin to nock it down last night. Going to try to run on it today. Me losing weight make gout worse and especially getting dehydrated and the crab, lobster, and steak I made for valentines most likely set it off this time. Got to avoid that and also sugar will give me fits. I got over it during Christamas vacation by not consuming ANY refinded sugars. Go get some blood work. There are other things that can mimic it like psuedo-gout. Good luck.

Age 33 does't count! Just kidding. Good time!
At about the same age I did this out of curiosity and did a 57 something. Also on another day out of curiosity, I tried a 200 and did a 25 something (wearing full length jeans even) . I was much more proud of that.
Im going to get flamed for this lol

Commentary or other info: My second year running track ever. I am a 4:33 Miler and 2:07 800m runner. Last week to start off a workout my coach told us to run an all out 400 ( Never raced a open 400 in my life) . I went out in 26.1 and came back in 32 , the lactic acid devoured me the last 150m since I Rarely do any true speed work. I train 7 days a week and seeing 40-50 year olds crank out 60's makes me feel ( no offense) terrible especially since I run D2 -_-
