Ajee Wilson = Class

The sad thing about the 800m for a lot of athletes like Ajee is you have to find fulfillment in national championships and personal records. The 800m is super competitive, it's the most competitive event for women in track & field. You are going to have to run sub-1:57 just to have a shot at a global championship medal and forget about breaking records, you will have to run incredibly fast even crack the top-20 all-time.

I'd think the dirt track, if it isn't rutted and rocky, would be a big advantage. It'd make stepping onto those Mondo super-fast tracks feel like a walk in the park after session on dirt.

I occasionally saw her training on the same track I use last summer; it is not a dirt track but a pretty decent 8-lane synthetic track at a private middle and high school. Not that this detracts at all from her character or her ability, but the dirt track thing seems a fabrication (unless it's meant to only refer to where she trains during the winter, of which I'm unaware).

Napping at meets is a very good idea. Napping improves cognitive and physical performance. Seems safe to assume it would carry over to racing.

I think she alternates between 2 difference tracks, I think the one she uses most of the time is one I used a couple times and its definitely dirt. Not that training on a dirt track is that big of a deal because a lot of world class athletes outside of the U.S. train on dirt tracks.

I agree with all of this except the physical therapist part. A physical therapist has been the most important person and expertise and component of all my running.
