I'm more than 30 years older than I was when I was piling on summer mileage at 6:45 pace in my home town. But I was there a few weeks ago for the holidays, and ran several of my favorite routes with a smart phone in my pocket.
I ran a minute or two slower for these 30-50 minute runs, but I'd expect that. What I didn't expect was that my 80s-era four mile route was hardly over 5K, and my favorite 1985 10K route was actually 5 miles.
