He is another Skeeter. Just a tad faster. No way you run that kind of times and there is no record of your track times anywhere on the web. On what track race he a white kid gonna run 28:10? How many college kids can run that now. Total BS.
Is this what running has come to now days? "Course Records" for workouts in a Facebook-like running account?

What I want to know is, can there possibly be any way this guy isn't making all of this up and is slamming runs to try and build some street cred? Could he actually be a legit runner?
he said he did a 4x3mile workout on strava averaging like 14 flat. Such BS

Look at his "recovery run" that's a 10k and he did it in 40 minutes. You can click on his mile splits and see his heart rate...he is between 170 and 180 while running 6:22 to 6:33 pace. He could have turned off his heart rate monitor if he was trying to be slick.

Obvious nonsense. Pretty mediocre on the bike too. Got a few climbs where he went full gas for a while and looks like he is maybe 4 w/kg for 40'-60'. Okay fit, but pretty ordinary by any competitive standard.
There has to be a recognized "athletic delusion" personality disorder. For out and out cheaters like Rossi and Litton their athletic deceit is basically just a big con. For some of these younger guys though, they seem to actually believe in the fantasy life they broadcast to others.
It is really bizarre that a young kid who has grown up in an age where all results are available online claims PRs that are totally implausible. The thing is, a 17 minute 5k runner can, with a lot of work and time become a decent age group triathlete or Cat 3 cyclist.
Instead his co-workers, friends and family will quickly pick up on his BS and it will be a lonely road for him until he straightens out.

This delusional athlete BSing thing is really wierd to see. Like it's so painfully obvious to anybody that gets the sport, but I guess it fools the average joes or clueless relatives/family members/etc enough for people to continue it?
Another example of this is his comical goal of going 31:45 on this Evergreen Cycling Hill Climb. Some REALLY good guys have done it in low 32's, in the high 300w, which is likely close to 6w/kg minimum. And he wants a minute faster, when his absolute best climbs with 180+ HR are going like 11mph up a 6% climb (maybe 4 w/kg or so). That's like talking about going low 27s for 10k when you're running 40 min.
Just funny to me that people think (do?) "get away" with these ridiculous claims.

Alex Viada ran a 4:38 mile with a dislocated hip with a heart rate of 130.

This sort of stuff is not uncommon in the running community and I think it is some sort of mental illness given that results can always be checked either on the internet (today) or on official ranking lists (in the past and today). There was some poor soul on these boards who claimed to have run sub 3 40 1500m and to be some sort of elite olympic coach. In reality, his running and coaching abilities were best described using the "wet paper bag" metaphor.
