I was more of a 400-800 guy when I first broke 5 (4:51 indoor senior year). I had run 2:06/53x for 400 before that and ended up running 4:38 outdoors (along with 51, 2:01).
Never ran a mile before breaking 5:00, 880 pr 2:06 or 2:07, one 2 mile ~ 10:10.

My first sub 5 mile was during a 3200. I finished my freshman year with prs of 5:00.4 and 11:00.7, so just missing the 5 and 11 minute barriers.
Over the next year I actually started doing real training, and at the first meet my sophomore year I split a 4:57 during the 3200. I died a bit the second mile but still finished with a new pr of 10:14. Eventually got down to 9:53 that season, as well as a 4:36 for the open 1600.

I ran sub-5 the first time I raced on the track for my high school, so I didn't have any track PRs at other distances. I did have a season of cross country, but didn't run on 5K courses. My only running PR at the time was, I think, a 54:xx 10K road race.

I ran a 3:00 1k indoors and I ran a 5:05ish 1600m shortly after that. I would say 2:57 would be a good indicator of sub 5 shape.
When I broke 5, my PRs were the following:
800m: 2:14
400m: 60-61
3200m: never ran
I was a soph in HS running track for the first time. My first race of the season was a "three-quarters" meet and ran around 3:40 for 1320y. Think I followed that up with a 64 on the distance runners 4x400.
The following week I ran 4:31 for the mile and around 55 on the distance runners 4x400. The week after that I ran a 4:11(1500)/2:04 double.
