Okay....I'll be the 1st person to come up with an actual answer to the question....
First off, do not starve yourself. This will only teach your body to metabolize slower and it will also train it to take any foods that you do eat and turn it to fat. In other words, when you stop the starving phase, you're ****'d.
2nd: Spread your meals. You can possibly eat the same amount during the day, but more meals/less per meal. This will allow more efficient use of calories, instead of them just sitting heavy in you. Also watch surplus carb-intake during the day. Some carbs are needed, but many of us overeat them. Speaking of carbs.....
3rd: Watch late night carbohydrates....which would include the beer, then. If you still want to drink the beer, then watch the other carbs late at night.
4th: Drink lots of water (8-10 cups/day or more if exercising a lot). Also be sure that you are not dehydrated at all before any eating. The food will not 'go down' as well.
5th: This may be up for debate, but for me it helps to do 2 workouts a day, even if they are small, rather than 1 normal one. On top of that, keep your body moving. Before going to bed or before some T.V., do some pushups, jumping jacks, etc....
That's all I got. I can't say if I've lost weight doing this, because I never gain weight. I stay in shape for life, not just for a race.
