X-Country runners weak and wimpy? I don't know where all you millenials on here grew up, but half of our Central PA HS team were wrestlers in the winter. And most of the Penn State team I knew back in the day were pretty tough guys. Not to mention the 800M guys....it was best not to mess with any of them.
If you see yourself as a wimp, it's your own fault. Don't blame the sport.

If someone has the mentality to destroy top competition in races, they're not someone you're going to enjoy fighting, regardless of weight.
Even a 50 lb chimp can kill a grown MMA fighter - it's about mentality more than strength and size.

What he meant was that half the wrestling team ran XC. Those guys aren't RUNNERS. The runners were the good ones.
