Here is a list of the medal winners from the story on their medal odds.

I went through the list and eliminated everyone that won gold, was in a field event, was in an event without quals and semis, or was mentioned elsewhere in the blog as a happy camper. I also eliminated Clayton Murphy because we know he wasn't upset with his silver!

The remaining athletes are in bold - Gatlin, Merritt, Nia Ali, and Tori Bowie.

It could also be someone on a relay that earned a medal and did poorly. Someone else can look them up...

Women's 4x100 - Gold - Morolake Akinosun, Allyson Felix, English Gardner and Tianna Bartoletta

Women's 4x400 - Gold - Allyson Felix, Courtney Okolo, Natasha Hastings and Phyllis Francis

Men's 4x100 - No medal

Men's 4x400 - Gold - Arman Hall, Tony McQuay, Gil Roberts, LaShawn Merritt

I doubt that the girls would be disappointed after their relay races, but you never know.

By the process of elimination it has to be Justin Gatlin or Tori Bowie.

I'm going with Justin the Jerk.

I feel good about my work day now. Time to go home.

I can't assume it's an American. He also has items about Semenya and an Irish athlete. He also has several items about field events, so you can't assume it's a runner.

Whhhhaaaaat? That's crazy talk. Asbel Kiprop was as cool as hell. He signed autographs for my kids and encouraged them to start running and do well in studies. One of the favorite experiences of the Games for me.

This is why track reporting sucks. The "journalist" is too afraid to name the angry person. He only write the positive interaction that stroke the ego of the fragile elite runners.

Sports journalist in general are too afraid to p1ss off their subjects these days.

Plus he made a mistake in his report, one you think anyone who followed track for any amount of time wouldn't make.

Exactly. Kiprop one of classiest runners out there and that story is offensive.

No idea who it was, but believe it would be on the woman's side where there were more genuine upsets and the upset runner still metalled.
